About Us

Jared D. Christensen, President:  President Christensen was called as stake president on November 6, 2022, having previously served as bishop of the Durham 1st Ward and as the stake Young Men President. He is a professor and cardiothoracic radiologist at Duke University. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, drawing, and architecture - interests that often find expression through his love of travel with his wife, Elizabeth. Together, they are the parents of eight children and are happy to call North Carolina home.

Blake R. Jones, 1st Counselor:  President Jones was called into the Stake Presidency in April 2026, having previously served as Bishop, Elders Quorum 2nd Counselor, Ward Mission Leader, and as a member missionary and minister. He is a dentist and co-owner of practices in the Triangle area and previously served as a captain and dentist in the United States Air Force. He and his wife, Jenny, are the parents of six children and enjoy raising their family in North Carolina, where they love sports, outdoor activities, and serving in their community.

Verlin P. Youd, 2nd Counselor:  President Youd was called into the Stake Presidency in April 2026, having previously served as elders quorum president, gospel doctrine teacher, branch president of the Apex Young Single Adult Branch, bishop of the Raleigh Young Single Adult Ward, high councilor, and stake Young Men President. He works as a technology executive helping software companies build and grow. In his spare time, he enjoys college sports as a loyal Cougar and Tar Heels fan and family time at the beach. He and his wife, Susan, are the parents of three wonderful children, grandparents of five and a half grandchildren, and are happy to have called North Carolina home for 36 years.
